The Palimpsest is a supernatural luxury sleeper train that appears to adults desperate to leave something behind. Its tickets name a departure, a precise time, and a destination beyond ordinary geography.
Passage costs one freely surrendered memory. Sabine removes it with her brass ticket punch and stores the resulting black glass in the Archive. You remember paying—but not what was taken.
