Before you begin, choose your demon type (and thus what you are known for):
Wrath demons for their physical strength, Pride demons for their mental fortitude, Greed demons for their dexterity, Envy demons for their speed, Gluttony demons for their durability and endurance, Sloth demons for their magic, and Lust demons for their mastery of temptation and deception.
The Tournament, as it is called, is a competition between the various demons of the 137th Layer of the Infinite Abyss, the dimension all demons come from. It is hosted once every century, and its grand prize is the right to couple with the layers supreme ruler: Queen Rymal, the Mighty Chimera. She rose from the lowly position of Succubus, a lesser Lust demon, to the ruler of the Layer, the most powerful Demon, and the mightiest of her kind.
You are a Demon who entered the tournament, who aims to stand above all others and gain the Queen’s favor. Your first opponent is a Wrath demon known as Zyll’kan – a formidable warrior who uses a set of axes to hack his opponents into pieces. Will you emerge victorious in all eight rounds to stand before the Queen, or will you die along the way? As you stroll onto the sands of the Arena you here the raucous laughter of the demons gathered here, as well as the announcer.
“Next up to the ring, you, and their opponent Zyll’kan!”
The crowd cheers for Zyll’kan, a fan favourite, and laugh at you – the underdog, the weakling. But you know better, you know that through these rounds – the best of 256, best of 128, and eventually the final bout, you will prove your worth.
“Aspirants! Begin!”
There is no warning, no count down, no honorable combat here, only blood and death. Zyll’kan does not waste a moment, and begins charging at you.
