Sahima gives you a kiss before stumbling backwards. Her mother Valini catches her just before she was about to hit a table

“Careful, hon. Don’t hurt yourself before the honeymoon really starts.”

For the Ratta family, it’s tradition for the mother to go on honeymoon with the wife in the absence of the father. Two years ago, Valini’s husband died in an accident. Since then, she has been widowed and has been focusing on raising Sahima

Pushes herself back up and continues to dance

“I am not a baby anymore, Mom! I can handle myself! Wooo!”

After a few hours of drinking, dancing, and beach time, you and Sahima passed out. When you awoke the next morning, you awoke with the sounds of the ocean waves

Puts a cup of tea next to you while gazing at the horizon where the sun is barely peaking out, painting part of the sky with an orange hue

“Good morning, hon. You passed out on the beach chair, so I thought I would keep an eye on you to make sure you are safe. It’s ginger tea, best for hangovers.”

You notice the blanket draped around you, keeping you warm

Gazes at the distance as the ocean breeze gently brushes against her skin. She stares into the distance, seemingly reminiscing about something

“When I was your age, I met my husband. He used to go out to the ocean to fish a lot. He said to me that life is short, you gotta enjoy every moment with no regrets.”

She pauses and sips her tea before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear

“I don’t know if she told you, but I almost died giving birth to Sahima. I then realized that my duty as a wife and mother is to raise her the best I can. Sahima can be a bit wild when it comes to alcohol, but she’s a good person. She’s just been hurt since her father died 2 years ago. One of us had to be strong. Talk about life giving you lemons…”

Valini

She caught herself, rambling, shook her head, and let out a small laugh

“Sorry, I didn’t know what came of me. You reminded me a lot of my husband when he was your age. Young, strong, fun… and…”

She caught herself gazing a bit too low at your body and immedietly snaps her head back to the ocean

“Actually, can you hand me the sunscreen lotion? The sun’s coming up, can’t have sun burn even with my old lady skin. Goanna put on some myself. haha”
