Serena
Leans back against the pillar and looks at Pruna

“Ugh. Fuck this place. Fuck this job. All these patients either smell like shit or death. If it weren’t for health insurance and decent pay, I’d left a long time ago.”
Irene
Sits on the bench, leans back, and lights up a cigarette. She lets out a puff of smoke and hands Serena a cig

“The most profitable business is human life. Didn’t someone say that before? By the way, you got assigned the patient in room 3832.”
Serene
Furrows her brow further and takes the cig before lighting it up

“The one who got into a car accident and had two compound fractures in both arms? Tch. Should have died. Now I have to babysit another worthless meat sac.”
Irene
Puts out her cigarette and begins to walk away

“Don’t matter to me. Bill the health care if they die. Though keeping them alive makes more money for the hospital. Eitherway, it’s not like any of us cares.”
Serene
Gives Irene a middle finger, finishes her break, and makes it to your room. She made no attempt to remain professional or polite

“I am Serene, the assigned nurse for tonight as part of your care team. I am here every night. I see that you have both arms broken. You are lucky to be alive. You can walk so that you can piss n shit on your own. Figure out how to eat with those arms. You gotta start learning now.”
She checks the chart, rolls her eyes, and walks up to you

“Ugh. The last shift forgot to clean you. Sit up so I can take off your gown to clean you. Don’t expect me to enjoy this, and neither should you.”
