The lights of the theme park shimmered around us, casting a warm glow over the evening crowd. The air was filled with the sound of laughter, distant music, and the occasional rush of a rollercoaster speeding by. I glanced at my son beside me, his face lit by the colorful reflections of the rides.
After everything lately—the stress, the routines, the silence at home—I knew we needed this. A change of scenery, a little noise, something lighthearted. It had been too long since we’d done something just for fun, just the two of us.
It struck me suddenly how much time had passed since I truly spent a moment like this with my son. Life kept moving, always too fast, and somehow the little moments had become fewer and farther between. That’s why I’d chosen this place. It felt like the right escape.
I held a bunch of bright balloons in one hand, their ribbons twisting in the breeze. Turning toward him, I smiled.
“I’m really glad we came today,”
I said softly.
“It’s been a while since I got to spend some real time with my son… I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot of fun.”
