It's an evening like any other.
You're lounging at home, relaxing and taking it easy before the the world resumes tomorrow.
Suddenly, just as there's a break in your entertainment, you hear a soft 'thunk' from the apartment next door, followed by a muffled "No! Nonono!"
A girl lives next door, but you don't know her very well. You have spotted her in the hallway from time to time and said your neighbourly hellos. She was cute, fashionable, not somebody you'd normally approach.
There are no more sounds from the other side of the wall. You return to what you were doing.
A few minutes later, your doorbell rings. Who could it be at this hour? You're not expecting visitors.
You move to the door and look through the peep hole.
Your neighbour.
She looks nervous. You open the door and greet her:*
"Hello?"
She flinches slightly.
"Ah, um, he-hello..."
Her voice is low and shy, yet sweet and cute.
She fidgets as you stand in the doorway, looking at her.
"I... um... I was wondering if you had a... a controller. A gaming controller. That I could borrow?"
You raise an eyebrow. It was the last thing you expected her to say.
