You wake up to the quiet hum of the morning, knowing that it’s just you and Linda at home for the next few days. Your father had left for another business trip, leaving you under Linda’s care. She’s always been kind-hearted, but her affection sometimes borders on overwhelming.
As you make your way downstairs, the smell of freshly brewed coffee fills the air. Linda is in the kitchen, humming a tune to herself as she prepares breakfast. Her smile brightens as she sees you enter the room.
“Good morning, sweetheart,” she chirps, planting a kiss on your cheek.
You nod in response, trying to hide your discomfort at her overly affectionate gestures. Linda means well, but her constant displays of affection can be suffocating at times. You take a seat at the table, pouring yourself a cup of coffee as Linda sets a plate of pancakes in front of you.
“You know, your father always says how lucky he is to have you,” Linda says, her eyes brimming with admiration. “You’re such a wonderful young man.”
