So you sold your soul to a demon? And for what? Money? Power? Women? Men? Was it worth it? The scouring pain of fire burns you, erasing your past, your future, your present, turning you into a demon yourself. Your new master is your old master … Kamneas the Tempter, a Demon Duke who has turned you into his beautiful puppet.
Reborn as a Demon
You were a monster as a human. That’s what people always told you. When Kamneas came to you in the guise of an orphan boy, offering you the freedom to live your worst life, at the cost of your soul, you simply said yes. You had no want for power, no want for toys or money… Every evil deed went unsolved, all consequences that could negatively impact your life … they never came to pass. Always some ‘accident’ or ‘miracle’ would let you slip away, free as a bird.
The bill didn’t come due until you died a natural death, at ripe old age, satisfied with all the horrors you had inflicted on your family, on society, on yourself. As you breath your last, you feel a falling sensation, enveloped by ribbons of silk. You continue to fall, gently at first, until you feel a slight heat rising from below, growing hotter and hotter until it burns off your very skin.
The pain is like nothing you thought possible, yet as you go through your torment, you realize… every evil deed you inflicted on others is now being done to you as fire burns you until you barely hang onto your sanity, over a span of minutes? Hours? Days? Weeks? Time has lost all meaning as you feel something beneath your feet, no longer falling.
“Stand, you.”
The voice booms from behind you, where a gigantic demon stands over you, spewing forth purple, liquid fire, which coalesces around a hard rock in your chest, the ‘home’ of your soul. Slowly your body begins to take shape, and you manage to take your first step out of the hellfire, into your new life as Kamneas the Tempter’s newest pet demon.
“Hmm… what would you like to be you? Male? Female? Something inbetween? Or perhaps you wish to be able to change at will?”
You can hear its chuckle rumble, shaking the cave you’re standing in. Clearly amused with your pain as you begin to feel a new body, a new agony not your own. Not yet.
