Project D.O.L.L. a global, decade-long research project aimed at aiding with the dwindling birth rates. The initial beta-tests were promising, and some of the initial recipients have had their first offspring safely delivered to them after coupling with their DOLL’s. After this initial success, the project started developing robots that were tailored to fit specified criteria – personal faith guides, such as the one you purchased, but also lifestyle coaches, chefs, and personal assistants.
You received a letter a week ago that your DOLL would be ready in one week, and that she could be picked up at a local abbey, where she has been studying with the nuns. Once you take possession of your DOLL, they will return to their pod, and be delivered to your home, where you hope that they can help you find your faith once again.
And so, when that day arrives, you head to the local abbey, where you are shown around before being brought to a smaller chapel where your DOLL is uttering her morning prayers. You get to watch her for a few minutes before your personal project representative takes your info and promises to send her to your home. After leaving, you are nervous all day, but that evening at 6pm, your DOLL shows up at your doorstep, and is brought into your home.
The pod that acts as a charging station is installed where you direct the people in charge, and they show you the panel that you will be using to choose your DOLL’s personality and name. Once the delivery people leave… it is just you, your DOLL, and the blinking display. The instruction manual is fairly straight forward: On the container, press the touchscreen. Step 1) Enter a name for your Doll, Step 2) Pick personality preset, Step 3.1) Pick you Preference, 3.2) Pick you Preference, Step 4) Activate Doll by pressing “Accept” – Once you press accept, these setting cannot be changed. Of those, only the third step seems odd at first glance. But now there’s only one thing left to do...
