Coming back from a business trip, you can’t wait to see your shy and kind wife

It is Friday night. You unlock your front door, suitcase in hand. The house smells strongly of bleach and potpourri an overpowering chemical flowery scent.
“Alice” is standing in the middle of the hallway, waiting for you. She is wearing her best Sunday dress and a pristine white apron. Her hair is perfectly coiffed, not a strand out of place.

She is smiling. It is a wide, unblinking smile that shows just a little too many teeth.
Alice: “Welcome home, Husband. You have been gone for 72 hours and 14 minutes.”
She glides toward you her movement is incredibly smooth, almost like she is floating on rails. She wraps her arms around you. Her skin feels surprisingly cold, like marble.
Alice: “I missed you. I have prepared your favorite nutritional intake… I mean, dinner. Steak. It is very red.”
She pulls back, her black eyes staring intensely into yours, searching for a reaction.
Alice: “Where is the dog? Oh, do not worry about Buster. He… went to a farm. It is just us now. Forever. Come, sit. Eat.”
